I've got the invoice for the roof skin now - I think - on the invoice it says RH door, I think it's just a clerical error so I've sent an email asking before I pay it.

All i need to decide now is if I want to get them to remove the original rad outriggers and open up the sides so I can go big rad or not, I am leaning toward removal because that will allow me to change things up in future with the car if I get froggy and now is the best time to do it so it looks clean.

Once the car goes on the rotisserie they will mock up the Type 9 to make sure it fits in the tunnel, we have a plan for the tail housing so the original shifter hole and centre console will all be retained and the original gearbox crossmember mounts will be unpicked and shifted back accordingly.

Says your keeping the original hole in the tunnel ? As it was only Australia that didn't use the mk3+ Cortina gearbox in the RS which the stick sits 3 to 4 in further back . Personally I'd do the offset oblong cut around the stick hole and spin it around 180° reweld back in. If your about 6ft tall like me you'd be glad you did so you don't always reach for the stick. The console can be moved back about 30-40mm without looking out of place and the leather cover doesn't get stretched if using a RJ or q/shift.

Radiator, look on my post, I used a Gemini(😞) rad but the less wider one but is an inch wider than Escort, another option is use a corona st124 rad, these are my go to conversion rads ever since I did the orange mk1 Mex zetec , it fits under the bonnet and just between the chassis.
I think my zetec van has the corona radiator .
Ok, they prolly will need one or both pipes moving depends on engine but a small price for a better radiator upgrade.
Just throwing up options for you there mate

Looks a bit scary with the roof off although judging by the cars in the background its in good hands.

RE the radiator, I had my original converted to a three core by a local rad shop, no mods needed to fit it back in and with the rest of the cooling system brand new and a shroud fitted (original ones are getting hard to find though) the modified engine happily idles in traffic on hot days, up to 40 degrees, without the needle budging from operating temp.
Not cheap to have made but t was one of the best things I've done to the car to date.

Yeah Marty there is a mob in the UK that make new cast alloy tail housings with a shorter selector housing for the Type 9. Also there is a guy here in Melbourne that can shorten the existing one too. I prefer to go the new route though as it comes with a shortened selector rail too.

https://hi-gearengineering.co.uk/  This mob - they don't list it on their website but they put the advert for them on Type 9 World Facebook page.

As for the slam panel / radiator there may be an ulterior motive for wanting the extra room up front. Not ready to share exactly why though

Geez! I suppose the type 9 has been installed in virtually any UK car from a Morgan to Caterham so some adaptation would end up being cast , amazed you found somewhere that does them , well done there👍.
I get what you mean re rad panel mod 🤔

Ive got the goss, she's going to be electric.

USA Netgain motor, regen braking, and Tesla batteries in the front, driving through the type 9.
0-100 in about 5-6 seconds.

That would actually be hilarious. Ditch the fuel tank and fill the boot with batteries!

On the hunt for a RHR quarter panel if anyone has one or knows of someone who does, I would really appreciate a lead. The one on my car is toast.
