Bit of work today cleaning up the bellhousing, transmission case and lid. Then I drilled the hole for the drain plug and put down some primer. Just got to wait for the m14 tap to arrive to put a thread in the hole.
I used rust-oleum rusty metal primer this time, it sticks like poop to a blanket as long as you prep the surface right and I'll follow that up with Metalshield matt black. I didn't use the Rust Seal for this part as I didn't want a shiny gearbox mated up to a matt black engine block.
My dad is off to the UK in a few weeks so I've got the parts I need for the box delivered to my uncles place and he is going to bring them back for me, so with a bit of luck the gearbox will be back together in September.
You can see the pile of parts I'm replacing in the box sitting behind the case in this shot.
Funnily enough you can actually see my NOS clutch fork in this shot, I completely forgot I bought it and fitted it back in the day due to the original one cracking. Young me didn't even bother taking the part sticker off it

, that guy was a liability!
Look forward to ticking this one off, sitting it on a shelf and then forgetting about the amount of money I spent on it. I'm sure that it will become a distant memory after the first drive!
