Hi guy’s
I’ve looked threw other post hoping to find out about what rims and tyre will fit on my Capri.
I found two that looked great, sold by Canterbury mags in Melbourne.
A few concerns firstly will they fit without having to change from original suspension as well as panel beating guards.
Rims chosen ctm muscle range
Globe and bombers.
Are there any Capri owners on forum that have used ctm 15x7

Yes Reeni, I have always used 15 x 7's on my Escorts and Capris with no issues.
Generally a 195 x 50 tyre or thereabouts.
The important thing to measure is the backspace of the rims, and account for tyre bulge.
You want them sitting as close to the strut as possible. I generally look at about 15-20mm O/A clearance.

^^those Magnum wheels are a great throwback to the likes of the Rostyles
Much better than getting a set banded which was another option I was looking at a while ago.
A  set of 15' would be nice on a Capri.

Thanks guys
I although have placed an order yesterday on the globe, in black.
I’m hoping they fit correctly they are confident of them fitting being suspension brakes have not been changed. Won’t know till next year before getting tyres.
Yet Deano I’ll try when I receive them how they fit without the tyre.
Dad said there’s a chance he may be able to have the centre of the rims drilled out, if I choose to use the original caps. Bullet looking.
Dad thinks there is a chance those may have been for a delete option car fitted with no mags.
May be good question to ask.
John you may know this question
Stock wheels what type of cover was used or is it only something that covered the centre and not the for nuts ?

Unfortunately the rims did not fit inside the guards.
Not sure if we will be refunded.
Dad was assured that they would fit correctly. As it wasn’t the first set made for 1971 Ford Capri v6.
We have had to send pictures of how far out they are sitting as well of all suspension brakes etc
Showing no upgrades.
We have sent a sms to that magnum wheels. Still waiting to get back to us

This is my Capri with 15X7 performance wheels
Very rarely get a slight rub on the front guard lip, but I have not modified the guards at all.
On the track there is absolutely no rubbing. It just doesn't like our lovely roads
I suspect the backspace of the rims is too large?
I doubt there is enough material to machine off the wheels mounting face?
Need more measurement info to help any further.

I’m sure they may have another rim that would fit, yet if it’s not something I think looks perfect I don’t want it.
Globes were a second choice. Bombers being first.
They don’t have it in stock for some time.
Not to say it will fit.
Dad said no less than two I inch of flare to allow rims to fit.
Maybe worth waiting for the bombers to arrive. Or look into something different.
Looking at your rims they are flat at the face with no dish or depth
Most. Lilly why they fit so well.

Dad spoke with ctm this afternoon.
Guy was willing to exchange for another type of rim.
I’m undecided at the moment of which to choose.
They have a vintage selection to choose from.
Dad suggested having someone come around to measure correctly.
It seems to be that they most likely haven’t themselves fitted rims onto a standard 3000v6.
Is there a post what offset is used.
In the case where there are no upgrades to suspension and brakes?
Maybe markA might like to share some pictures of his Capri.
