There was a Landy early 70s 100 (?) across the road from my work looking like it been dredged from the ocean, the owner sold the house and all historic cars, nothing valuable went to Sims , except an old 1945 Harley and an Indian from same era

I reckon I can smell the inside of that car from the pics.
That dash is something else, i'm not sure it is possible to design something so fugly without trying.

Maybe if my horse comes in today I'd put a bid in on the landy.
Would prefer a short wheel base version, for old times sake.
No roof or door tops, a set of sunraysias, and holden 6cyl.....

Zetec powered Landy?

Well did your pony win ?? Totally forgot it was on, not that I really care, prolly care more about the mules than Bathurst lol..
Landy with a Holden 6, what are you thinking.... Shame ! A Barra if anything and will it fit... Make it fit.. zetec, no not powerful enough . Lexus IS300 3lt straight 6 , cheap strong and sound sensational on high rpm 😎.
I wonder what the anoraks will say if I clamp a is200 2ltr 6 into the Escort, ??

Forums are quiet again, perhaps it has something to do with 3/4 of our dry brown land underwater.
How are things in SA Marty?

No, horse didn't do any good, so back to work.
In the shed, front suspension has been tarted up a little, and is ready to go back on.
The rear arch has been cut, reshaped and one side welded up ok. The photos make it look closer in some shots, so both rear wheels are now on for the first time.
I'm happy so far with the width and how the offset turned out.
The van has done its first mono as well, drag style: I removed the rear rotisserie and had it up on 4 axle stands under the sills.
When I let the trolley jack down from under the diff, up she raised. Who would have thought that having no suspension in the front, and the weight of the diff/rear springs and 2x  9" wheels and tires would have done that !
Plan for this week is to get the front struts back in and hooked up, and the car back on the ground. I'd like to make sure it is settled before fixing the front guards fully in place.
Speed trials are again on this weekend, if anyone is interested in seeing Austin 7's and the like getting the bejesus wrung out of them.

I was going to post on here last weekend to watch out for rain at 4oclock, I honestly thought our house was going to sink with the amount of rain hammering down, it was so hard that visibility was 30mtr.
You done a good job of attacking the arch and adjusting the gap .
I'm about to start back on my coup soon, been looking in USA for rear seat hinges as there's nothing here in Aust. I do want functioning folding back chairs in this car .
Just about done working on the mk1 Focus for now, all major repairs, mods etc are done except the power steering pipe connector in waiting from sparebox (1 week late) .

Classic Adelaide rally this weekend, it'll be raining so we'll decide on the day to go or not. There's only 2x Escorts in it so I'm umming and arring about going..
About 5yrs ago I owned a focus 1.8 sedan which I had modified engine and suspension etc. There's a part of the rally when I got there I want to be at the other end at Snake Gully Road. I asked to go thru which the marshals agreed, I asked to be timed on the special stage and it was on...3...2...1... Go, I gave the little Focus absolute curry up the road, 7500rpm in anger felt good. After the stage was opened later on, I asked where I came in the ranks on this stage, I came an unofficial 34th outright !! Not bad for a road car with 2x passengers packing death all the way !

Back on board (sort of)😢
I haven’t had access to the forum for a while now. Wasn’t sure what was wrong as it was the only forum etc I couldn’t access. I got in touch with a friend who uses the forum and he said all good. So he got in touch with Glenn (our great admin guru) and after some to and fro it turns out it is my wifi. He is mulling this one over.

I have a new user name as first fix attempt was to delete old account.

So I am writing this on my phone which s{%*s me to tears and on 4G. Hopefully guys I’ll be back on shortly as the track car is slowly moving along.

Hopefully you’re all well and plugging on with the projects.

Marty your Targa story was an absolute p*sser, that is such an aussie thing to be able to do. I imagine you all loaded up, asking to get timed. Good on them for letting you have a crack. I've told that story to a few mates now.

Glad you are back on deck Mark, we need some more updates.

Not sure I’m up and running yet.
Currently etch priming the whole car and will do underbody, engine bay and cabin in 2k white. Already did boot in black enamel with a hardener additive I had. In hindsight prob should’ve done white as well.
Oh yeah, in my absence I also built a rotisserie
