Correct, Robbie, arrived today about 10:30 CEVA are such a good company to deal with.  The driver called me 30 minutes before he arrived.  Now tucked up in the garage before the threatened big wet arrives.  Not had much chance to get in and under it to see what I have.  Gear selector seems extremely loose.  See other post requesting ideas on fixing this.  Glad it’s here and I can get a roadworthy completed for rego.

Well spotted and thanks for the offer.  The owner has the original radio in storage and will give it to me once he can get access to it.  This will take in excess of 4-6 months as he is building a house.  He had fitted a modern unit with 6 disc changer and speakers etc but I don’t care for that kind of stuff so it was agreed he could remove it.  Where are you based?

Adelaide seems to be a hotbed for Ford Escorts.  Would certainly like to have access to a mechanic like you have and your car looks the business.

You managed to snatch one away from us!

After taking my evo to many wrong places its nice to take it to places that know what they are doing!

Hi Steve,
I saw your ad on Gumtree regarding wheels.
Do these work any better for you
13X6 Original Bathurst Globes?
All tyres have tread but are probably due to be changed due to age.

Hi Deano,

Thanks for offering these up but I am really after a plain steel type 5 1/2 x13 size or 6 x 13.  Possibly RS 4 spokes.
happy to say the car has finally passed roadworthy and is now on historic rego.

no worries.
I gave a set of steels to another forum member who was relocating his cars overseas.
Who did your roadworthy, and which club did you go through?
If I get back onto my Escort, I will need to find someone 'sympathetic' to older cars.
Love the guard dog..

I used a garage near to me in Geelong.  They did a good job but it was really expensive.  They were reasonably happy to work on older cars but were a bit frustrated waiting on parts and in fact fitted roller top strut mounts.  This had the unwanted affect of not only raising the car by at least an inch, were also a great deal more expensive and were not really required, they just didn’t want to wait for the other ones to be delivered.  The other work again was expensive but they did a good job overall.
it’s always a risk buying a car from SA as they can sometimes get away with things you can’t and don’t actually want to get away with in Victoria. No offence intended to SA people.
i am now back as a member with the RS Owners Club Victoria again and the rego part was painless at Vic Roads in Geelong.
