I have sketched up what I require sump wise as a minimum.
 
Pink indicates what the current sump looks like, green indicates require sump arrangement. The dashed green line was just an alternative to avoid having two bowls, which is the way id go.
 
I just want to look at changing the cross member arrangement as well before looking at new sumps. My thought here is that if i used the Escape sump on the Jag motor. Ill take some more measurements and do some more cad drawings.
 
I have been in contact with the Rocketek guys as well. They are talking about $500 US for sump and pickup, which ends up nearly the same price as the whole motor.
 
 

Well it’ll be a great thing - better motor than the. Cosworth- I think

Things are moving forward. Currently working through the 3d model of the sump than will trial fit on the motor than off to casting for the prototype.
Once thats sorted I'll move onto flywheel and gearbox adapter arrangement.

Will you cast a new sump or just modify the existing one to suit?
Pretty sure there is an adapter already available to adapt the engine to an RX8 box if you want to save yourself the hassle.

I was going to cast new so I could get them made for others if wanted. I thought that way it will keep it looking as factory as possible. I did find the adapter for the mx5 but not rx8. I will keep looking though:)

The thought is megasquirt at this stage as that is what I used on the escort.

What are people's thoughts on clutches? Something that will handle stock power or get the flywheel made to suit something better?
