Hi Matt, nice to see another van getting done.
I just recieved my Mk2 Van project on the weekend, and will start a separate thread.
You are already many steps  ahead!

I'm waiting on Carl to pick up his next stock shipment, but may have to look at ordering some bubble arches from UK.
Keep posting can you, so I know what I need to do!

Awesome update and that motor looks mint! You were able to source it all easily within Aust?

Hey Robbie.
All sourced from the uk. Had my mate go pick it all from up north. Has it all sat in his lock up. Just got to arrange to get it all over. Looking forward to getting this van done.

Love the van idea with bubbles .
Personally want to move away from the norm an mount a coyote and Porsche 997 transaxle in the rear.
Interested to see how that performs in a 50 year old van

Well the big rub down has started. Shed is finally how i want it so the MK1 started to get some love. Couldnt believe how good the metal was under the shoddy paint. Found a dent in the rear 1/4 which had been a little bodged up. Luckily have to cut out just behind the rear wheel so no big issue. Could do with a panel cut to repair around the passenger side rear light. Other than that its started so pretty happy. Then just to get the engine sent over from Blighty.

Hey Deano.

Engine not arrived yet. Have to find a way of getting all the parts over. Bonus who had the orange mk1 cossie was going to help but he had enough of the forum and left. So im looking out for another way of getting engine and gearbox over here. May just have to pay for a 20 foot container and arrange that way. Will wait and see after this covid dies down. I have ripped the drivers side guard off now. Heater bubble pulled out. There is a lot of welding to do.

Hi Matt, If you have Bonus' number could you please PM me with it. I tried contacting through here but no luck.
He has actually moved near to me and I wanted to pick his brain on a few things.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Matt,
dont tell me about the welding.
You'd need a fair bit of gear to make a 20ft container worthwhile.
I'm sure I read somewhere you can have your itesms sent with otherpeoples, in part of the container.
What about talking to Yesterford or Taffs in Adelaide, or the Escort guys on FB?
Many of those seem to import container loads of stuff direct from UK (especially TAffs), with gearboxes and Duratecs in particular. Perhaps you can pay some $$ to contribute to their next shipment and have it included?
