Thanks Mud, seems alot of people have fond memories of these old things...
It's been a case of best laid plans gone to waste last couple of weeks. Having not sold the engine yet I was going to move onto the interior then I got a tap on the shoulder at work saying I had too much holiday accrued so here I am now with five weeks of freedom...
Started on the body, four days into that the engine sold so I dropped it all to pull that out. Back to the body now. Rubbed the whole thing back panel at a time and got it into epoxy. Found a couple of surprises good and bad. The drivers guard has taken a small knock and was full of bog, that was bad, I knew there was bog in the drivers rear arch but it turned out to be rust free, thats good. Someone had rolled the arch with a sledge hammer by the looks of it and hidden the evidence with a thick layer of filler, it took a morning of dolly'ing but its all straight now. Found a few pin dents around the place but managed to get them out with a lick of proof coat and the dolly again.
Started the welding yesterday, the shells really good, doors, bonnet and boot are all spotless, just the sills, passenger arch and rear wheel wells to do. Finished the drivers sill and wheel well, haha bit rusty with the welder so started on the easy side first.
Anyway back to the garage, more progress to come... Drew...
