Hi Drew,
Good to see you back on the job, sorry to hear about the mess up with the paint job. Still, it's looking good and lots of clean and shiny bits going in!  cheers, Len

The old girls really starting to come together now.
Exterior trim is back on, windows in and I'm making a start on the interior.
Having headaches with the front windscreen though. I wasn't happy putting the old toughened one back in so went looking for a new laminated one. I could only find one supplier but his prices weren't bad so went with it. Tried to fit the first one only to find it was bowed and sat up on the passenger side by 20mm. All good though he swapped it over for one from a different batch. No luck with that one so either, now its about 15mm wider than the original so after Christmas I need to take it to a glazier and have it shaved down. Just another hurdle to jump but I'm not deterred, can't wait to drive it down the coast with the quarter windows open and some golden oldies playing on the AM radio.
Cheers Drew

Hi Drew,
That is looking pretty dam sweet, judging by the earlier pictures of the interior trim it's going to look just as good inside.
Cheers,
Len

Eventually got there with the windscreen, couldn't find a glazier that wanted to touch automotive glass the covid kicked in...
Ended up finding a nice, laminated second hand unit and after months of messing around 1 hour later it was in the car.

My motorvation took a bit of a beating but after a few weeks of sulking I'm back into it.
With the interior sealed I've started on the carpet and door trims.
I had enough material cut from the same roll as the door trims to do the seats and console so it'll all be the same colour and grain

Originally brown I went with a lighter colour carpet to better suit the rest of the interior, it had lost a little of its moulding from being stored for so long but it should settle in and now I've got somewhere warm and comfy to sit while I tackle the dash install.

In the engine bay the headers, manifold and carb were also put in this weekend with the cherry on top a proper GT air cleaner.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Its not quite The Beautiful Swan yet Deano but its getting there

My gauges weren't the best but not bad enough to pay market rate to replace until these ones came up on sunday arvo for a price I couldn't refuse, glass and bezels are much nicer and they still have some colour left unlike my old ones.

Drew,
Was in a mates MGB yesterday and watching those Smiths gauges work is very nostalgic. Pity Ford didn't really go that way.
