I've been looking at an xr5 as a candidate for a rally car. One person has told me they are a little nose heavy for rally.
What are people's thought?

Cheers

Hey there, there were a couple at the targa west (tarmac) not sure how they went though. How about the XR4? cheaper to buy and the right formula of small car, big engine and a wheel right on each corner...... What class will you be entering? If its production based an evo lancer or wrx may be cheaper and more competitive....
Just a thought......... Drew...........

If you do. . Convert it to 4x4 ! I have a ST225 (sorry xr5) And they are front heavy and occasionally tail happy if pushed .

main reason i'm looking at the focus is my size.
i'm a large build (very broad shoulders and 6'2" with a lot of my height in my torso)
to give you an idea

i'm on the right, thats a mk2 escort and my seat is on the floor, padding basically removed, the tallest back seat that velo make in it's largest size, widened, and harness hole raised 100mm. i just clear the roll cage with helmet on.

I'd agree with others that it wouldn't be a nice handling car - would love to hear it out in the forests though!

Ok, well that settles it.
I have not had one positive from any source on its suitability so I'll keep looking.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Have you considered an older car like the KF/KG Laser TX3 AWD Turbo???
They have plenty of room to allow modifications and were a good handling car, just not many around and ones that are have been flogged.....
