Hi guys, what do people use for rear leaf spring rubbbers?
Nolathane, Powerflex, Superpro etc etc.
Thoughts on them and what has/has'nt worked would be great.

If you're referring to MK1 escort & the flat pads that go either side of the leaf pack, use Whitline bushes because
Superpro don't fit. I have a pair (whiteline) new in the packet if you're interested. Cheers
 
 

I think he means the spring eye bushes.  Which ever brand really.  They key with these is when you fit them you must use the grease they come with or they will bind and the most important part is when doing up the bolts you must have the suspension sitting in the 'road position' or the bushes will already have load on them when the car is on the ground.  I usually refit the leafs with the bolts loose then put ramps under the back wheels before tightening them up.
Also, dont be a tight ar5e and replace all the leaf spring bushes at the same time ...  There are 6 sets all up - front eyes on each spring plus upper and lower shackles at the rear of the spring

Did you meant "be tight" or NOT "be tight".....I had thought about being tight just so I'm not wasting money if replace the whole set up later down the track.....I got a price today from Repco, $60 + $60 + $40 plu $20 delivery....I'll ring around a bit more.

I'd use Superpro because they have steel inner bushes / crush tubes.
I've had non-crush tube types flog out fairly quickly - disintegrate actually!

The front spring eye has a crush sleeve in Nolathane and Whiteline too The rear shackles dont in any brand from my experience.
 
 

Which bushes tend to disintegrate, ??  Top shackle, or Rear spring eye, ??   Manual is specific about installing,
the Rear Spring Eye bush, One of the triangle points, must point downward, and be installed using a lubricant,
the top shackle bushes, (round) will be the cheapest, and just push into the chassis. rear spring eye may be
next, most expensive is likely to be, the Front Spring Eye bush. Has anyone installed one recently,??  Do you
drive it in, with a tool or hammer,??  the Centre steel tube, probably is a pivot, on the through bolt,
What do you think.??…….. (for 1 spring only)  2 top shackle, 1 rear spring eye, 1 front spring eye, 1 lubricant..

They all wear over time.
 
The manual would be referring to fitting rubber bushes not polyurathane.  I have replace these types of bushes heaps of times being an ex mechanic.  The polyurathane bushes are all just push in by hand with the lubricant added.  Sometimes i have used a big pair of multi grips to push both sides in at the same time but that is all the force required.
Once installed there is no maintenance ...

Hi Gdub,  i'm learning from posts, what i intend has been done many times.
Where is a good place to buy poly bushes,?? i will replace all of mine to be sure problems with the
suspension don't occur, in my Mk2, i'll search or post for answers to queries i have and try to do it 
right the first time.  I'm sure all new to escorts appreciate your contribution, on our behalf, Thanks Heaps.!!

Spring rear eye bushes disintegrated on mine - didn't have crush tubes.
I put in Superpro which definately have crush tubes - Whiteline & Nolathane don't last time I looked at their web sites.
