Hi all the V6 D Port motor I have has engine number V822222P with numbers 9A25 does anyone know where it would have come from? Doesn't match English or Australian engine numbers. Keith

Keith, just browsing around this forum and came across your post above on July 05, 2015. The numbers 9A25 are the date the engine was built, in reverse order, this is a Ford universal coding system used worldwide. The 9 = 1979 (the last digit of the year), the A = January and the 25 is the day the engine was completed in the factory. Now, I'm guessing that this engine is an Essex V6 built at Port Elizabeth in South Africa because they were still building and using these engines in a few different Ford cars in South Africa up to the early 1980s from what I know.

I've got one too.... Weighs a hefty for it's size just be made of lead. I stuck it to the cupboard door in the shed and it nearly pulled the cabinets down ....

Correct if I'm wrong, weren't they on Falcon, Escort twin cam as well, not sure about mk2 cortina lotus. I have the super roo decals on my mk2 escort van (it came that way from a farm), I can measure them up for reference as I don't know if they are correct sizing

Bee Vee, check www.falcongt.com.au as they sell the Large decals, DECSRL to fit the XW GT, same as the Capri for $20 a pair. The also sell a smaller one DECSRS to fit the XY GT, NOT used on the Capri though, as far as I know!

I have seen the inserts around BV from various sites, I bought some and changed 1600 to 1600GT a few years ago.
