Guys,
I have manufactured a number of new engine bay loomes for the V6.The loom that I manufacturer incorporates Relays for Starter Motor Low and High Beam. Additional fuses are also fitted on the Light circuits as the existing fuse box will not prevent the loom from frying in the event of something going pear shaped. Relays can be fitted under the Radiator infill panel to retain originality.

As far as the bulk head fitting is concerned I drill the plastic plug (Firewall) out so the new loom can pass through and all wire termination can be carried out from within the cabin using utilux or similar connections. One important mod to remember is the positive link between the Alternator and starter. I think this was standard on some of the latter Capris.
I am current manufacturing a new Loom for Mat ( Hotboost) as they work a treat.

I found a gearbox specialist in caloundra called "Top Cog". They are right into classic cars restorations, NC cars, so I gave them my gearbox to rebuild. Bearing surfaces, synchros bearings and seals all done and soon to be fitted to car.
With the wiring I decided finaly to have a crack at it myself. The basic loom wasn't to bad, what looked bad was all the add on relays etc just placed haphazardly around the engine bay. Now the relays will be in front of the radiator and a couple more under the dash.
Engine to go in soon.

I can understand why these cars are so popular for drag racing, there is so much space for a V8...but the Essex V6 just looks so 'right' in the engine bay. This is going to be a very cool car.

Schlutes told me that the engine and box could be craned in together so this morning we decided to go for it and you know what?, it will fit without scratching the paint anywhere just take it easy. Now I dont have to try and fit the box to the motor from under the car, thanks Dave.

IT RUNS! After rechecking timing and setting up electronic ignition and sorting some wiring it started. I ran it for a couple of minutes and it sounds great. Its been 4 years since it last started so I am excited! It will be on the road soon, Woo Hoo!
Jobs still to do, buid an exhaust, more wiring sorting, waiting on tyres, seatbelts and heaps of small stuff but getting there.
