Ive been reminiscing lately about the exciting fuel and electrical fires that happened to various small fords that I owned back in the sixties and seventies.
I had a fuel fire once in the middle of a snow storm and it was only the fact that there was about six inches of snow on the ground that enabled me to put the fire out.
Had several electrical wiring episodes usualy because the alternater shook itself to bits and shorted out together with the dismal lack of proper fuses.
Then Im looking at the tangled mess of decades old wires that make up the looms and it occurs to me that if the wiring on near new old fords could give me that much grief, imagine what these old wires will do.
So the decision has been made to completely redesign and renew the wiring system, fuses, relays etc. but with the engine bay still looking as original. Electric fuel pump will also have a safety device installed to turn off in case of a mishap.
