FORD CAPRI CENTER CONSOLE ELECTRIC CLOCK REVIVE OPTION
Hi guys , I have been working on a venture past 3 months ( time permitting)  on repairing & restoring the German electric clock which is located on the top of the curvature of our Aussie Mk1 Capri center consoles, these clocks have the common fault of not working when found , I after many hrs put into it have devised a method of opening them & repairing them back to life, its not an easy procedure by no means , but I have already repaired  x 3 with great success , and just need to iron out a few things like an  in line protective fuse to prevent future breakdowns due to power surge or under voltage fault ( which is why they have all failed over the years ) , also looking at fitting an LED ( in the rear for night time illumination) as opposed to the very expensive "original" 12v bulb & holder assembly ( if you are lucky enough to have it already) , aswell as I give the internals a good clean out  and clean the plastic lenses before re-assembly.
Before I start this venture I just want to get an idea on what the demand would be if any at all  ? I guess I need to know what  fair price  you guys are willing to pay for a service of this type, as I need to know if its a viable thing for me to pursue   , as they are very , very time consuming but  at the same time very enjoyable as I love repairing old things to get them back to life!
I,m thinking of each owner sends clock via registered mail , and allows 2-4 weeks to do the repair/restoration , if clock is beyond repair I will re-assemble and return at no charge with minimal cosmetic alterations , the fee structure I am still working on , in the "fixed" price  fee I will incorporate registered mail return postage.
Let me know your views guys ...cheers
Mario

Here's a picture of the bonnet on my Teal Glow Capri....
Paul

Love the two Capris, they look terrific. The white one looks like a 1970? Is there a difference between the side stripes on the two cars, the white one appears to have a slightly thinner stripe towards the front of the guard than the teal glow car or is that just an optical illusion? The reason I ask is that i have a 1970 an the stripes are the same as the teal glow, wondering if I've got it right or not, there seems to be a lot of variations to things like stripes and black outs etc. Also were the bumper over riders an option? I've only seen them on English models before?

Blackouts and stripes can vary, as some were applied by the dealers to Delete cars to boost the profit.  I have seen stripes applied then the tapers cut on the car, and I have also seen ready mades applied.  Several people have made stripes over the years and others have painted on their own interpretations.  I scanned my sets from an original survivor car, $80 a set if you want some.

Blackouts again are similar, there is the factory painted, dealer painted and custom painted.
