Well I have had this project underway for a little while now but, as it hasn't been a priority, little has happened.......
This has all come about: well my whole Sierra addiction really dates from my youngest childhood memories of Bathurst when I used to sit down by myself and watch those little red rockets race round the track! I know there were a number of Sierras racing but I think all young boys like red & especially fast red.......
Fast forward 20 odd years and to now. Reality is that I will never be able to afford to buy a real Group A Sierra so I am going to build a tribute. I say tribute (rather than a replica) as it will be built on a much lower budget than a touring car. The plan is to build a car that looks like the real deal and that I can have fun in on the track. The initial plan is to assemble the car, make sure everything fits and works properly and then strip and make everything look pretty.
So, after being inspired by the great work others are doing on this forum, here is my project.....

The pictures are going to be a little out of order.

I had new bearing hubs & caliper mounting brackets made....... this was a saga.....

The Bilstien rear coilovers will not fit without modifying the arms so I am just using the Gaz coilovers temporally.

One of the diff's I will be Running. It's a Kaaz LSD I believe with Quaife output Shafts & 3.64 ratio. The rear housing is a Group A spec unit. I also have a Quaife spool which I plan to install in a 4.25 or 4.44 ratio to give me some options.

Cheers Matt

Very cool project, are you going to modify the rear side window?

Hi Luke,
Thanks! Yes mate I am going to mod the windows. I have both standard Cosworth glass or Lexan windows to install. But am leaving that until later as I want to keep it water tight, so I wont remove the other windows until I'm ready to go.

Cheers Matt

Good to finally see some pics and info on this project mate. There's some nice bits and pieces there. Really looking forward to seeing yours, Jons and Aarons on track at some stage.
I'm really hoping to have a "tribute" of my own one day........

Juiceman, Thanks mate & I like looking at the brakes too.

Ossie Cossie, Hopefully a lot nicer than it is now.... The plan is to paint it up like the car below. It's the one I remembered watching as a kid.

Paul, Thanks mate. Now I just have to make all those nice bits & pieces fit together & work. I can't wait to have a few Sierras out on the track!
I just hope I can keep up with Jon as I think neither of us will get close to Aaron - well apart from when he is lapping us lol.

Aaron, Thanks mate I have been watching your progress & using it for motivation & inspiration. Don't rush on yours. I had mine first & have only just started to catch up!
