Hey people. Here are a few crapy phone pics of my new Cossie.

Its a 1988 Sapphire Cosworth. Built mid 88 and was complienced in Australia in Feb 1990. So it hasnt spent much time in the UK.

It has lowerd eibach springs on adjustable Koni front shocks and pedders rears.
Autronic SMC ecu. Custom exhaust. Greens. Only running about 12-13psi of boost on a mannual bleed valve! I will be looking into getting the SMC to handle boost control or will go a jap style electric unit.

And this is the overlander spec height to pass the pits.

"Normal" height will be restored in the next couple of days.

My plans are to keep it fairly standard but make a few upgrades.
I have some BMW Brembo 4 spot calipers and adaptors ready to go on. Just need to source some Mk1 RS Focus front disks.
I also want a hydrualic clutch setup. New wheels, and a different turbo.
I have ordered a full set of coolant hoses and some gaskets from burtons.
Will take a while to get it all done, but im in no rush.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Especialy on the two tone. Im not sure thats staying yet!

Cheers

Brett

I've always liked this car. Shame to see it leave Vic but clearly it has gone to an enthusiastic new owner which is great. I love it as is - two tone, the lowered stance and the wheels! Engine bay could use a tidy up, but if it were up to me I would leave the rest. But it's not, so do with it what you will!

I really like the Sapphires. And the two tone paint on yours looks excellent. The white over grey looks really, really good. If it were me, I'd be keeping it as is. Just my 2c worth, but like Simon says, its yours so do what you like with it

I agree with all of the above!

Would still love to own a Saph. Owning one is on my bucket list that's for sure!

Looks like a good buy you've had there too mate!

Thanks for the comments guys.
It has been well looked after by all previous owners. I will try do the same!

The two tone is growing on me and will more than likely be staying.
The rims on that white sapph are awsome. I would like some of those thanks!
I was thinking more along the lines of Compomotive TH2's.

Dont know about the red and yellow two tone!

Cheers

I remember back in the late eighties I wouldn't have given the Sapphire a second glance ... the Whale tail on the 3 doors had me totally consumed. However fast forward 20+ years and I have to say the Sapphires are freaking gorgeous. Maybe I have matured just a little. :)

Brett - gotta agree with the other chaps, I like the two tone, I also like the wheels and the stance it has on those springs.

Sweet ride mate.

Lovely car ... congratulations Brett.

Re the two tone? ... the purist in me says all white with ambers but, I do actually like the white over silver and the wheels work well with the colours too ... like Simon says, enjoy it as is and spend the money on the bay.

Cant wait to see it lowered again!
