How do you fit light weight and inconel Subaru valves into a cossie head?!! With a set of these crossbred guides!! (the ones in the middle)

Its a case of bringing the Cossie into modern times Luke, although I wish it was a little easier to hand machine parts...in hindsight I should have had them modeled in solidworks and CNC machined. Apart from conversion guides, the Subaru components are lighter by a country mile, with better materials and all available off the shelf at good prices!!

Im still convinced there was a technology purchase or at least some involvement in the original EJ20/25 from Cosworth...its all just to closely related for them not to have been involved...not to mention the current focus on Subaru components by Cosworth.

The trim in the front of the car is now offically finished...door handles and sunvisors are done

Just the back seat to go...although might need to talk Pat into some suede boots for the handbrake lever and gear stick

Great car & workmanship. The Mk1 Cortina had great styling and you've really added 21st century mechs to it. One point I noticed that may be different between Qld and NSW rego requirements was the door bars on the rollcage. Will they pass inspection ok? I thought door bars were tricky to have for a roadgoing project. Certainly need them to stop that motor taking off on it's own!

Hi Robb,
It really depends on the engineer your using and when it was engineered. The rules for NSW state something along the lines of 'the rollcage must not hamper entry and exit from the cabin'. By sloping the bar forward I can argue that it does not hamper entry and exit from the cabin. On top of that it was passed with a loosly worded engineers report over 10 years ago so is all good, may not be so easy these days.
Cheers,
Phil.
