I've been looking into the CXN17s but they are bloody expensive. I saw these Calibre Vintage wheels on a white Cossie and they looked great. They should be about $1000AUD delivered but I'm just waiting for a bit more info on how they fit up, as they only come in 17x8" ET35 and I'm a bit concerned how close they'll come to the front wheel arch moulds.

Hi TCR.

Nice find..... my Cossies are from Japan as well. I remember seeing your one in person while it was in Japan, I might even still have a load of photos I had taken off it on an old hard drive.

Have you decided wether you are getting the "Calibre Vintage" alloys, I am also looking at getting a set. I am a little concerned about the fitment as well so I will be interested to know if you have brought a set.

Cheers

Hey Mark,

I'd certainly appreciate any photos you have of my car.

I didn't order the Calibre Vintage wheels, as there was a question mark over the offset and whether or not you'd need spacers on the rear. However, I did find some very similar wheels which are manufactured in Australia and can be done to with varying offsets. Best of all they're only about $1000AUD delivered.

Hi Again…

Your Cossie - I have a few old hard drives here and in Japan, I will have a look through them over the next few months, I am sure I still have the photos.

Alloys - Thanks for that mate….. interesting. I see they do the BBS LM style as well, not for the Cossies, they will suit something else I have. Did you end up getting a set, if so, what size and offset.

What has been slowing me down on getting the"Calibre Vintage" was that you needed to run a 10mm spacer on the rear and if you ever wanted to fit big brakes to the front, there is not enough clearance.

Cheers

Haven't bought any yet, I've got a few other things I want to do to the car first. I was going to probably get a set of 17x7.5" with ET28 for the fronts and ET22 for the rears. These should end up about 13mm further out at the front and 19mm further on the rear, which will hopefully fill the arches a bit better. The only thing I want to make sure of, is that they won't rub on the arches as I don't want to have to trim them.

Thanks again.

Yeah I am the same, do not want to trim the arches.

I was looking at running 17x7.5 on the front and 17x8.5 on the rear. It is just trying to get the offset right. Might start a thread and see what other guys are running on their 3DR's.

Cheers

Haven't done a lot to the car lately except an oil change and sending it off to the detailers for a couple of days to do some paint correction. Now that the paint's been detailed, I hope to get some decent photos done at some stage. Untill then here's one from our last trip to Lakeside a couple of weeks ago:

I did get a sensor kit and a couple of oil filters from Matt Lewis Motorsport in the UK.

First thing was to change to water temp guage sender as my guage has been reading a bit low. Undid a few hoses to get to it:

Here's the old one:

And with the new one fitted up:

First test to see if it reads any better will be at Lakeside tomorrow when I take it for a few laps.

I saw your car at Lakeside the other weekend, it looks amazing in person! Still looks as though it's just left the factory.
