Looking good is it going to be registerable? Are you happy with the paint job?

It's primed only atm and the bodywork has not been started.

It should be registerable. Engineer has been involved all the way and has done a preliminary inspection which he was fine with.

Still lots to do. Proper bodywork won't happen until the end of next year at the earliest as I have to go away for work and just want to get the thing in rego prior to my leaving.

Brake calipers back from being coated. Been away a lot lately but now I have some time off so hoping to kick some goals with the car.

Springs arrived today so I fitted the suckers tonight when it cooled down some. Fitted up the front calipers loosely as I dont have any brake pads yet. Found I had to change the orientation of the spacers for the strut tops as the upper spring plate was fouling the plate. No biggie. What is a biggie is the fact that the strut tops seem to be falling apart... good old Noltec .. and to think I trusted you. The car hasn't even turned a wheel in anger and that **** is breaking down.

Spent some time on the tools today. I ordered a handbrake major service kit which came with everything to overhaul the handbrake so I fitted that today. Must confess I had some issues as it is the first time really putting the whole car together.
So I attempted to fit the handbrake shoes only to find that they fouled on the screw in wheel stud locking nuts. I thought the easiest solution would be to wind out as few of the studs as possible and sneak the shoe through. Undoing the studs is a pain of a job but I backed three out, put the shoe in only to realise there was no way possibe to do up the clip holding the shoes in place. Bugger. So I ended up pulling the axle which I was hoping to avoid. Then I had to reinstall the damn wheel studs. Side 2 went much smoother as I just pulled the axle straight up.
I experienced some issued with the rear brakes as it seems the shop who rebuilt the calipers didnt clean the sandblast media out of the rear caliper slides prior to greasing them and putting them together. Seemed like mostly just one side tbh. So I pulled them apart, washed them and regreased. All good.
The handbrake cable is off being shortened (a lot! ...) and should be sitting in Garry's sweaty hand already. Once that goes on I just need to get the brake lines sorted on the rear calipers and hang the reservoirs.

Looks like she is really starting to come together now,  hope there are no issues and the rego tests go smoothly for you

Been doing lots of wiring which isnt particularly exciting to see. I put some stripes on the back to see how the size looked. Just didgy ones so not concerned with overall quality.

More work done today. Also more stripes. Bring on the stripes! Iphone doesn't take great photos at night (ever?). I left the carby off so I threw in one with it on. Now the stripe is in the engine bay I can mount stuff in it :)

I am stoked with how it looks so far (keeping in mind there is zero bog in the car so it's warts and all and in primer) can't wait to see it back on the ground.

A small update, although not on the car.

I have had to travel for work and thus progress has halted :( I was trying to get it together before going away but just couldn't get it done.

Hopefully get it going at Christmas time when I return.

A few pics of the car as it sits now. Lots of small jobs still outstanding but it runs, drives and stops.

Still need to source a rear spoiler though.
