Well... progress seems to have been slow. I am assured that lot's has been done but I am just not seeing it I suppose.
I have been concerned about the bonnet scoop I had fitted. The retard I sub-contracted to fit the scoop completely ignored what I said about reshaping the front so that will have to be done later. And it didn't stick properly .. so another retard gets paid for sub-standard work and goes on his merry way. With the guards in place the scoop doesn't look as huge as it used to so I am happy enough about that. One side didn't want to sit on properly so I had to bring in a stunt arm for the purpose of the photos. Thanks again for the help today Owen.
Picked the diff up too. It's a shade industrial but I am assured it is good. Moser 31 spline axles added to the stuff I had before and the new brackets stitched on and boxed/strapped. One side section looks kinda wierd to me but we ran the tape over it and until I find out otherwise will assume it to be good. Heavy little sucker.
So now the diff goes back in, back wheels on and the rear guards get repaired. Front guards have some cancer in them but the panel dude says he can fix it so fine. I have been in favour of bolting the guards on, especially as I was going to use fibreglass ones, but now I have been considering just welding these ones back on. The car shouldn't rust in the garage... although it is a Capri so it just might. Thoughts .. opinions? Bolt on vs weld?
Next up is to fit the coil over conversion to my struts, buy some front springs (keep hearing anywhere from 200-250 pounds) and to reco and powdercoat the front and rear calipers (red!).
