I had about 5 runs tonight. All were very consistent with 16.249 sec being my best time.
This is a great starting point and I'll be interested to see what changes any future mods will make.

As a reference the performance when new of:
MK1 1300 Super-  19.9sec
MK1 Twin Cam- 17.0sec
MK2 1.3 XL-  20.3sec
MK2 1.6 Ghia-  19.2sec
MK2 1.6 XL (ADR27A)- 20.5 sec
MK2 2.0 GL-  18.0sec
MK2 2.0 RS2000-  17.9sec

Nice! Good to see you're having fun. is axle tramp an issue still?
I am hanging out to go back to the strip myself but won't go back till I eliminate tramp.

Cheers

Thanks. I had no axle tramp at all this time.
It happened last time because I dropped clutch too quick trying to race the LJ beside me and didn't know the track would be so sticky
It might become an issue once I have more power but I think with careful use of the clutch I'll be ok

Yes, thanks. A pair of webers might get me into the 15's but for serious speed I think forced induction is the only way to go

Sounds like someone is ready to race. Let me know when you heading to Willowbank again.
Should try this carby out and run that 15. It didn't sell.
Watch every thing break running 15' wheels.
How was the engine rev's over the line.

Hi Mark
I'm setting up some dcoe's at the moment and should have them ready in a month or two. But i'd love to try the 38 in the meantime if that's ok with you.
I've sold my 15" steels so no worries there lol.  Engine (at a guess) was doing about 4200~4500?? I was watching the MPH instead of tacho!
I'll be going out again soon no doubt. It will be great to catch up. Cheers

Is that the carb you were using when you ran 15.52?

I changed from Mountney woodgrain steering wheel to a cheap SAAS wheel with a twist :D
Painted the spokes black for the RS look and surprisingly the escort badge was a perfect fit

The DCOE42's are coming along nicely. The 39mm trumpets worked well with these 63mm filters. Gives one inch clearance. A few more little bits and pieces to get including a synchrometer/ flow meter.
