Vehicle Emission Control (69mm x 101mm) – black on blue background (part no. 76 BA - 9C 485 – BA)                                                                                                                                                                                         Is it also possible to supply the ESCORT decal that is affixed to the blanking cap which covers the hole in the right hand rear quarter panel on the 2 litre models (where the original fuel filler used to be located)? Thanks

Yep, emissions control decals varied in colour, presumably based on year.  I saw an old bonnet recently that confirmed my suspicion that mine was originally orange.  When was the blue one used?

Was the "ESCORT" sticker on the fuel filler blanking cap placed on 2 litre engined cars only?  I took a decent photo of my exceptionally faded one in case I ever decided to have one reproduced (not that I was planning to).

The black on blue (with BA part No. suffix) was original on my 7/77 build Mk2 2.0L. I have no idea how long that colour combination/Part No. ran for.

I've also seen other colours (and BB used as the Part No. suffix).

Can't say for sure, but I think that ESCORT was used on the later 1.6s also, once the fuel tank moved to underfloor. Maybe somebody can confirm?

My 8/78 build had an orange sticker.  I do wonder why they changed colours given that they were all required to comply with ADR27A.

Hi guys.

I'm in the throws of restoring my RS (1980 4 door) and I'm interested very much in a set of these stickers. However can anyone tell me what ( if any) differences exist between the 1979 ( which I understand these are reproduced from?) and my 1980??

Thanks guys.

I've just started applying the decals to my freshly painted shell and may I say thanks again spanner... Great quality and a perfect finishing touch.....
Out of interest most of the jack mounting decals in the boot I've seen are all stuck on crooked, even on my unrestored TD Cortina (damn it bothers me) Am I just seeing the cars built on 'friday'? anyone else noticed this?
Cheers Drew.......

G'day Flighter,
Spewing the sideways one on the Cortina's gonna bother me even more now
Don't want to hijack the thread but I found a dingey, sweatshop looking, textile shop in vic park today, they had some 70's window awning style material, maybe worth a try for your seat material? Let me know if you want the details or I can stop back in and see if theres anything close to what you need........
Cheers Drew.........
