This is definitely a first!

For those amongst us correctly restoring the late model Australian Mk2 Escorts, including the RS2000's, who demand perfection in reproduction labels, the day has finally arrived!

One of our Classic Ford forum members (proving we really are a skilled bunch!) has spent many hours professionally reproducing each of the labels and decals fitted to these cars. The labels are technically correct as per the original Ford labels from 1979 and 1980.

Over the past 12 months we have tirelessly hunted down from various cars each of the surviving labels that could be used to reproduce the new labels from.

Each of the labels is technically correct with content, type set, size and colour, and cut to size ready to fit.

I have happily fitted these labels to our correctly restored Mk2 RS2000 which will appear as the designated car representing the RSOC (Aust) Club at the All Ford Day 2010 "Restored to Original" Concourse category.

The list of labels includes:

Control stalk label mounted on top of windscreen
Motorcraft coolant level decal on radiator support panel,
Battery label on passengers front guard
Motorcraft battery label (on battery)
Tyre placard label on drivers door
Vehicle emission label underside of bonnet
Brake booster label
Jack usage label underside of bootlid
Jack usage label on jack (scissor type jack)
Fan speed/Heater sliding control label on dash
Steering wheel Ford label (RS2000 only)
Cigarette lighter
Dash brightness
Hazard flashers
Seat belt "Press"
The RS2000 logos on the rear guards and beaver panel
The RS2000 strip kits

There are other decal an label kits available from various sources elsewhere. Originally I purchased most of these however found that they usually were not specific for the late model Escorts and/or they have many errors.

I understand more labels of various after market types will soon be available.

I'm interested in some of the labels. I'm not a complete stickler for originality so would not require all of them. Any prospect of some for Mk1 Escorts?
