Well, more work found the megajolt user output chip was fuct and not sending outputs the the vct,it was fixed and well had to have a run so It was done, and felt GOOOOD, the car ran sweet and pulled all the way to 5500, then again hit the keira wall, took it to dyno today and more bad news apparently jetting is way out, starts mega rich then goes way lean! I dont know but trusting the dyno shop atmo. Need to get some small main jets and air correctors so can start to tune it. hopefully Monday. But really running out of time on this apparently i need the vct timing off initially, then on to like 5500 then off again. hard to do with my 80 dollar computer, but well see.
Bathurst is looking shady..........

Well the results are in......
Engine is now running strong to 7400. Nice smooth power curve, and dare I say it most of the bugs sorted out. So a big sigh of relief and off to Bathurst we go.
Dyno'd at max 146.7 rwhp @ 6300 and 140 ft/lb from 3-5500.
So a smidge off but given driveline losses 170 at the fly is about right, which is what Mr ford claims. Still plenty to do with cams, better exhaust, and induction. But for now just happy its running well.

Bathurst, bloody awesome, you just have to do it, I can tick it off my bucket list and will be back for another go next year, Its an awesome category with all sorts of cars, and the FOSC run an amazing show given how many entries there is.
Next year will be the fourth visit.(hopefully) and it cant come soon enough.
Basically I haven't used it since, cash & pregnant wife is a problem and I managed to rip the exhaust off putting it on the trailer to take home. So some minor work to do.
I am toying daily with ideas, even considered selling it at one stage, the latest was to cut the front half of the roll cage out and start the process of getting it engineered for road use.
I just want a car I can use more often. Although having it road rego'd could very well mean the end of my licence quick smart. open to solutions to this issue.

I've got the solution...I'll swap you my 1300 auto. 28.7hp at the wheels, no more speeding for you [:x)]

This maybe a stupid question, but what starter did you use?
I am considering the Zetec road and wondered if my hi-torque starter
would fit, CAE brand.

Thanks

If you use the flywheel from retroford or burtons etc. Yes use the CAE one or a std one. I will be....

Thanks for the clarification on the starter.

I modded the 1.8 blacktop flywheel by moving the ring gear 14mm, redrilled to take pinto pressure plate, also had to do a few mods to the starter as it hit the retroford sump and the flywheel. The poms use the dohc sierra starter (not the cossie) and most go the auto version but I've read the manual works in some applications also (mostly clearance issues for the solenoid and exhaust. retro ford sell reco'd ones. about 100 lbs
