Haha, it was good fun removing that panel[:(!]!!
Just a few pointers if you decide to build a rotissery..
1. get the car as level as possible on the ground, measure the gap from the front sill to the ground then the rear sill to ground, do all 4 (L/R).
2. use atleast 2.5mm wall thickness RHS for latteral strength.
3. make the car spindles level, front and rear. The height it approx 1/3 the way up the height of the car (this works with most cars) for better balance.
4. The ground supports need to be atleast 1mitre high or you may scrape the roof on the ground!!
5. Use a proper welder with lots of heat, mine was set on 170amps, just about flat out!! we wouldn't want to see a fallen car land on anyone. if your unsure of the welds, weld gussets onto it for extra strength, remember its holding a car at any angle of 360degs, lots of stresses going on.
6. big smiles and beers when it actually works
