Had a spare afternoon today so got on with the Anglebox tunnel, here is the cut out piece i removed as it is too skinny and slopes down too much.

I bought a Panbrake(metal folder/sheer) to do the folds, i did 4x folds total for strength & looks

The new tunnel tack welded in place

Fully welded on the inside and stitched on the outside, overlap was about 20mm all round.

Underneath shows welds sunken in nicely(almost like tig)

This is a seat that will be using, its from unknown origins but when they come free, we dont complain. its from some Jappa unit, maybe Honda....i not fussed, they fit in well and look fine in there too !!

This week i'll attempt making brackets to fit the seats

that seat is pretty similar to the ones that came with my anglia, i'd like to put in some WRX seats but i think they might be a little wide

Hi Martin
What is orange thing lurking in the background? What welder are you using? I'm trying to weld in some floor panels and keep blowing holes in the old metal. I figure I need something a little less powerful.

Hi Eric, The orange thing is a bubble arch '74 mk1 shell i've had since 1999....must get around to doing something with it[B)]. My welder is a 170amp SiP TopMig using 0.6 wire, good for most car and light duty use, it works very well on the thin stuff

Thanks Martin. I'm interested to see some more progress on the 105E. I'm about to do a low tech engine swap in my 64 model.

Been busy buying parts for a blacktop Zetec which i recently bought, it had 16,500kms...pretty low for a '03 Focus, tho it didn't stop me from ripping it apart for a inspect & upgrade with serious components, Im not into std rebuilds..even my mk1 Zetec had been modded
This is the bare Zetec block

these are the ARP head & mains studs

Clevite77 mains & big end brgs (NASCAR approved)

Mains studs installed

This is the std crank and ALLOY flywheel back from balancers, all came up good

Alloy flywheel from Fidanza(USA) weighs only 7lbs, cost was $380 inc post. It has new ring gear and a replacable friction disk !

It has the std 36-1 pick up for ignition

Clutch is a stage 3+(of 8) from Spec Clutches USA, a 6 puk with a claimed 335ft/lb torque proof with an 11% heavier pedal feel, same spline as Escort too, cost $450inc post from USA

More goodies to follow soon...

Hands up for an update???

Allrighty then !!
Here is some on the zetec,Probe pistons,Eagle rods , crank all in, the stage 3 cams arrived from USA the other week, they will prolly require shimming up but aint a problem.

Bought 4ltr of 2pk 'miss tint Ford BA blue' for engine block, got 3.8ltr left over so this could become the colour for the Anglia

Bought a Gates racing cam belt...blue of course!!

I did some home porting on the head, as a guide the exh is almost inlet size & inlet is bigger than 2.0 Pinto....way bigger!

NOW for Anglia time. I got onto welding the floor up, also fitted seat mounting bkts, also relieved the cross brace for the exhaust pipe.

Here is about last weeks pic, i have sealled the floor & 2pk'd undercoated it

Marking out for turret kit since the std shocks are lever style...kind of similar to shop door closers !

The Escort turret kit is going to be welded in this wknd
