I'm building an anglia at the moment, however it will be far from original when finished.
I have just been working on the rust repairs at the moment while i acquire parts.
So far i have got:

5 speed sierra gearbox
mkII cortina legs which will be modified to coil-overs (like milton) and modified control arms
EA fairlane LSD (will have to be shortened ALOT)

and it will be running a 2litre zetec engine from a ford mondeo

so it will be a 2.0 twincam 5 speed anglia with coilovers, 4 wheel discs and an LSD

ambitious, but should be awesome when complete

actually to add a bit more, before i owned it, my anglia had a 1600 x-flow in it. apparently it was very very quick, and with double front sway bars and a turreted rear end it handled excellent too. sadly that engine got replaced with a teeny weeny 1300 before i got my hands on it

for those of you wanting to modify cortina gear, this is a very useful thread i found on retrorides.co.uk

Anglia 4, if you have not already done so, buy the steering arms from Milton rather than trying to modify the Mk11 Cortina items. The Milton products are exceptionally good. Worth to money.

I bought one of Milton's turret kits for the rear end of my wife's 105E and it is superb.

well, it is not all good news. sadly, the prmer is very dry and dusty. apparantly the primer is no good and needs to be sanded off and redone. oh well, it is all learning experience.

bloodyeck, the turret kit sounds very interesting. i have been told that a commodore (i think!!!...) was also a very simple install.

240corty...thanks for fixing the picture, i had no idea it wasn't working.

UPDATE -I had to sand back the old primer as there were some problems with it. The day I sprayed it was too hot, high 30's, Then the huy at the shop told me the wrong mix of primer and thinner and the paint had been sitting around for a while.

Anyway, I got some time today to redo the primering. On the whole, I am really pleased with the finish. Needs blocking back which I hope to do over the next couple of weeks.

Hope the latest picture works...

FINALLY!!! An update. I got to spray the roof and body recently. the roof is Ford Polar White which has a blue tinge during dusk. The bosy paint was matched to teh original. Unfortunately, some pics make it look grey, but it is pale blue. I have started to sand it back with a view to throwing some clear onto it soon. Then buff, then put it back together...piece of cake. Also included a 'before' pic for comparison. It has come a long way.

i have started to put some bits back on the car. the tail lights are back on now and one side window is in, but will have to come out soon. [:(!] have also painted the floor inside with some body deadener., it makes the car look a bit more blue n the pictures.

i hope to get the bootlid and rear screen fitted next weekend.
