I have noticed that there are always a few Anglias at the various shows in the East but are there any other Anglebox fans on the forums?

I have started rebuilding an Anglia sedan. It has a knackered 1500 motor but the body is generally very good. I have started to sand the paint back with the intention of respraying it in the original colours, or close to them. I am going to pull the motor and rebuild it as well. I have no trade training so it will be a learning curve, but I did a spraypainting course at TAFE and was quite good at it. At the end of the day, what's the worst that can happen? Then it will be rebuild the motor and off to TAFE again for a course in motor trimming.

If there is someone who can help with loading pictures for me as I have never had any luck posting piccies here.

I've always liked anglias and been quite tempted on a few that have been on feebay. I prefer the 100e though.... Either one will look great when done..

Good luck and keep us up to date with the pics.

105e Anglia's where the first old Fords that I liked, they're what really got me into them.

All the one's that I've seen pop up over the years have been at the worst times, either when there's no time to get it, no space to store it, or no funds to buy it! Which is unfortunate, but I will own one, one day.

Hopefully soon, so I can actually use it before they despise anything that runs on fossil fuels.

Get some pics up ASAP of it mate, would love to see it.

Gerry, I would be interested in any items you post regarding your restoration. I have a 1964 105E which I am doing up at the moment. I will shortly be putting in a 1600 cross-flow and all syncro four speed box. I'm planning coil-over front suspension and disk brakes.

OKay, I have opened a photobucket account, so hopefully these pics will work.

The first picture is the car coming home. it was driven into a shed in 1992 and never driven again. it was covered in dirt, but solid. didn't take much to get it onot a trailer

IN the process of sanding it back. I am not going to bare metal it as the body is solid and after speaking to some painters, it was recommended to just clean up the existing paint.

what it looked like before getting sanded

I have nearly finished sanding the body. The drivers front wing has a knock that could be nasty, but I will have to see how that looks once it has been sanded back.

Bloodyeck, I would be interested to hear how you get along with the 1600. Is it a straight swap? What about steering columnh? Does it bolt straight from a MK2 Tina or Escort?

Phantom, I have an Anglia Estate that I could be talked into selling It is a project as well, no running gear.

Progress is a bit slow, but I will keep this updated as I make bits of progress.

Gerry,

The Anglia is a bit of a snail in terms of the time I get to work on it. The paintwork was pretty good when I got it but the interior was shot to bits. Some goose (not the previous owner) did the interior in red and white, with white long pile carpet.

The car currently has a 1300 engine from a Mk11 Escort. Fitted straight in with the Anglia box and retains the hyraulic clutch. Wife can't cope with no synchro on first gear so I have a reconditioned Cortina 4 speed to fit.

I have acquired a 1600 from a Mk11 Escort and will be fitting 90 thou over pistons. Head has been ported and hardened valve seats fitted. That is as far as I have gone so far.

On the front suspension scene, I am fitting Mk11 Cortina struts (disk brakes) with a coil-over set up. I have Mk11 Cortina track control arms. There are some modifications to be made to make it fit but it is a proven combination. Can't justify buying a complete kit from Miltons in the UK.

I have acquired a set of period Cosmic allow wheels off this forum and they look the ducks guts.

Thats about it at this stage.

Eric, where are you sourcing the pistons from? I've been trying to get cast ones from UK but seems they are out of stock. Maybe we can do a bulk deal?
