Yet to do final sums - but here is the lowdown.

First one took about 12 hours fab - $200 lasercutting - $250 rosejoints - many hours autocad, sus prog and making a jig.

Would be significantly cheaper than 1000GBP that UK prices command.

I would also be interested in doing it for my escos as well.

Found this awesome product - it is called DupliColour Metal Cast - if you dont know you cannot colour anodise cast alluminium successfully dependant on amount of silicone in the casting. I really wanted my rocker cover to match the red that is on my aeroquip fittings. The Metal Cast is a high temp (500degF) epoxy paint in a spray can - it is a two part process - first a base coat that makes the rocker cover look like it has been freshly cast and then the top colour coat that is semi tranparent.

Check it. Have not machined the top yet.

The depth of colour is excellent and I will give it another coat - the photos do not do it justice - it looks almost candy without looking plasticy and matches the aeroquip well. They have a charcoal colour aswell I have ordered it to paint all my tanks - will keep you updated when I paint.

Made some bracketry for the fuel reg and supply t piece. Dash 8 in and out - two dash 6 in and out.

I am going to reanodise the purple - it is the only colour you can get these regs in and I will relocate the pressure transducer to the reg.

Started figuring out the twin pumps and fuel rails.

The other stupid thing that I have done is that always loved the BBS wheels that have the bolts on the outside. But the old grpa ones the bolt is on the inner of the rin. So sourced some grade 8 stainless bolts that I had to die nut the thread to the shoulder (absolute unpleasant individual) and then k-nuts on the other side. Looks better but no heads so probably should not have bothered.

Spent some time today mounting the pedal box. And a few more plates to cover things in the engine bay.

And my mates engine dyno is coming along... Need to mount an exhaust, buy some pumps and fab a cooling tower.

Cossie should be on it in a few weeks.

Did a bit more painting - Metal Cast in smoke colour.

I think it suits the carbon stuff I have and am going to do all the tanks as well.

Started prelimary design for electrics - going to create some junction boxes and such under dash, rear and front junction boxes with spring cage terminals.

New looms.

Pectel and Motec power distribution module - this replaces all fuses and relays. Speaks Can bus to ecu and dash and has 30 outputs (8 x 20A) and 16 inputs. Completely programmable so need to think of a few things for it to do (eg. fan control, no ignition till oil pressure on crank, fuel pump check on startup etc).

Switch boxes and motec shift light. Use the honeywell mil spec toggles and piezo led pushbuttons. The shift lift in Can bus and each led is individually programmable for brightness and colour (think there is 8 colours).

And dash (it is a bit dusty).

Motec SDL dash - 16 analogue in, can bus, rs232 to pectel, 4 digital in, 4 digital out (no pwm but can do 2d/3d tables), lambda, logging, backlit.

More cool bits Does pectel talk to the dash via CAN or rs232? I thought rs232 was a bit slow for real-time display? Im looking into an AIM at the moment. Might have some questions for you soon.
