No Ford made them as well from 1940 to 1945, approximately 260000. Willys , who had the tender from the government, couldn't keep up production so Ford was brought in because of there factories and production line abilities. Ford being Ford would mark all of there components with the ford F script, body panels through to bolts. My jeep is a Ford script body, Ford logo was stamped into body at rear just under the jerry can holder.
It's a bit of fun although pinto could do with a bit of a freshen up, bit head work etc... Although that would distract me from mk1 I am trying to put together.

Hi Sean, great to see you on the forum :D
Jeep's looking great. How's the MK1 coming along?

Thanks. I am still working on the Mk1 but the paint prep/ panel work is taking me far longer than I thought. As this is my first attempt at panel beating, I now have a greater appreciation for the "art" of panel work. Currently having a 3 week battle with a 40 year old front guard that had a ding in it. Trying to get the correct shape of the guard, to match the other side, without adding to much filler is sending me insane. I feel like an archeologist removing layers of repairs / rebuilds from different eras of the cars life.
Anyway this is a great site that has given me plenty of inspiration / motivation of what can be done.
