so to finish the mock buildup, back on went the lights, wheels doors, and front bumpers,
 

and some chopped up recaro fabric

 

I ran out of cardboard, as you can see, but the idea was there. 
Then Chat GPT helped out, letting me change the colours:

The Van is looking great Deano, I really like the gunmetal for the stripes but no one ever accused me of being creative when it came to car colours .

Thanks guys., I like the Bianchi probably them most if its going to be 'bold', and then the metallic silver.
There was one suggestion that was outside the box, (you can guess who from :) ) and that was painting it matt clear.
 
At the moment the paint is really quite glossy, so it might have enough contrast and be a bit subtle that you pick it up from some angles but not scream out at you.
Pretty sure I remember seeing an Escort or mini  on Goblin Works Garage where they did a similar gloss/satin  checkerboard effect on the roof and it looked effective. 
 
Work has a sign cutter which I shoud use and make stickers instead of biting the bullet and just spraying a colour on.
