RS2000 2dr Escort Parts
Hi guys, thought i would edit my askings......
im still after a couple of RS2000 mk2 things....
The centre caps as listed below for the original volante's or if any others makes/models fit? Would love to find originals eventually but for looks non gen. would be ok for starters.
Possibly a rear seat upr and lower in RS2000 trim??
Now the question is and i know this really isnt the spot for it but anyways, is the rear seats the same as any 2dr mk2? as in is it just the cloth patterning that is different??? so if i have the base off any car and re-trim it thats all it is??

Brian,
Have you checked the door pillars also? Usually when the top rusts, so does the door pillar from behind. When cutting the top bit out of a donor car, it would be good to grab the pillars at the same time if they are any good and you need them.

Yeah when i bought the car i had a real close look at the A pillars and was relieved to find no rust...have looked at a few and found that it doesnt even take the rust at the top to rust into the A pillars...

nothing i guess...
I know people have spare interior out there, 2 things, they obviously want to hang onto it and/or think they would want too much for it to be able to part with it....
Bummer i really need seats as the RS i bought only has the Ghia interior, so i also need a RS dash also.
Anyone?

Hello Bryan, Keep an eye on ebay and the forum's parts for sale. These things are available from time to time, however they are increasingly more difficult to find. I have noticed that like a lot of things they become available in bursts, then nothing available for a while. At the moment there is not many of these types of items for sale. Keep trying!

Always the way, when you want something its not around, when you dont need it there are an abundence of them!!
Yeah always looking, have some time to find the interior as i haven't even started working on the RS yet and that will take some time...(but as i go would be great to get a hold of most things and fix/recondition them before the shell is finished as most like to do!)

Hmm good luck its getting harder to find, i knew of a guy that had a full set of 2dr RS seats front and back they were mint as in brand new original, I offered him $1000 for the lot about 8 years ago now which was good money considering you could buy a rs for $3-4k. But he wasn't sure what to do and just kept them :( just left them hanging in the shed. Hate to think what they'd be worth today [:u]

Drivers; is a like a racing style seat (racing harness style jobby)
Passengers; std RS scheel-very good condition.

Yep. Corners are rounded off on the 4dr rear seat to make entry/exit easier for back-seaters. 2dr rear seat is a lot "squarer", but 4dr will fit in 2dr.

ok cool...so as for the RS 2dr to a normal 2dr the cushion parts are one in the same?
just so im not looking only for RS rear seats i can get any rear seats retrimmed...
