Rhys' Mk2 2dr - 2lt, Quad Throttle Bodies
Here are a few pics of my 'good' escort. It was my first car so I've owned it for 5years in October. For now its just a shell as I only just got it back from painting. Its 2pack velocity blue its changes colour a fair bit depending on lighting. Engine is a 2lt, FR32cam, double valve springs, oversize valves, fair bit of port work, pear shaped inlet ports for injection. yada yada yada. all been rebuilt and waiting to go in. Tell me what you think..... Sorry about all the pics but Im a tad bit excited as this is the result so far of nearly 2years work. Grant, Dome is a fibreglass jobby, will be painted when inside of boot is done. We didn't have the correct stand to paint both sides of the boot so they will get done soon. Bumper were originally colour coded so have held off painting them yet not sure whether to colour code or go black.
Huw, Course were gunna race. As brothers naturally we've gota compete! Dont know when it will be finished hopefully a few months.

1980rs, I reckon it suits it well too. Was bit worried bout how it would turn out but as soon as the first coat went on I thought it looked mad. Its also pretty unique........so far. The pic that you said it looked grey in was actually a wet on wet coat, kind of like a sealing coat that fills and minor nicks I think, and it was tinted blue so that the actual colour would take better.
I was baby blue to look at but I dont think the camera did too well in a dutched out environment.

Cheers Ton, yeh was home job meaning I did all the body work but my mate sprayed it and hes a 3rd year apprentice spray painter and his mate from work is a panel beater so he checked it all over and reckoned I did a good job. But after it got painted if I really get looking trying to pick things I can find areas that I could have done better, all in all im quite happy with the result as its not intented to be a show car but a daily driven car.

I'm not expecting the same power as Russ' but close to would be nice, yeh will be EFI after its run in. I'll get it going with carb first, as I dont want to complicate things for myself. Russ' has a wilder cam. Emerald P4 i think? I've got Kent Fr32. Different brands of gear, but both double valve springs, oversize valves. I'd say mines got more porting work done though. Different pistons but both 40thou over size. Russ' has new computer (fuel/ignition) where as mine is old school and fuel only. Same extractors, same vernier cam wheel. Very similar comp ratios. I dunno Russ may shed some more light on the differences. Having trouble thinking of them at the moment.
Think I should have put all this in project section. Ooops.
