Mk1 Escort 2.3L Turbo

Hey here are some pic's of my Mk1 escort which i finished doing up a year and a half ago with my Dad. Got the motor out of a thunderbird from the states, its a 2.3L fuel injected turbo. Took about 5 years, we thought the engine would bolt straight in but we were wrong! It took a few mod's to get it in. But got there in the end.

Been meaning to put some pic's up but never got around to it.

Nice work, always good to see someone trying something different.

What sort of problems did you encounter getting it in?

    Thanks guys,

Its my original mk1 booster, my Dad got it restored.

Performance is pretty good, i haven't had a chance to take it out to a track or anything since i finished it. The motor is stock from the thunderbird, just pretty much took it out and put it in the escort.

To get it to fit i had to modify the sump and engine mounts, had to cut the the tunnel out and a bit more to get the T5 gearbox in and then made up and welded in another tunnel.

Looks Excellent! and thats a good conversion! not many have done that!
Those motors standard have so much torque!
does it still sound like an escort??? i reckon it would sound really different too?

Sorry Ty thought i wrote back before but hadn't.

And as you can tell i dont come on here that often.

Sounds totally different, but i never heard it run before the rebuild with the new motor.
