Dash Light LED Replacement

Some time ago there was a thread about replacing the old dash bulbs with leds. Can anyone refresh my memory?

These are the ones you want - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-Blue-LED-T10-194-168-Plate-Dashboard-Side-Light-Bulb-/140567364954?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20ba77c55a

Bit pricey I know but they work well.

You can also get them from Narva  (See figure 17)http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/wedgepremium-wedge

If you get stuck I can send you some.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

They look a bit purple but are a hell of a lot brighter than the standard ones but at $1.69 for 10 inc post you can't go wrong.

    Cheers,

I'm thinking of getting some with 5 surface mount devices to potentially get a better spread of light; something like this:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/it...669d987#ht_3742wt_1141

Might even get white ones and keep the factory shades in place.

The last link there says $51? Way too much, check this one.

LEDs have a naturally wide spread too, usually about 140 degrees so I dont think you would need the side LEDs on these units...

    Cheers,

Yeah, the price got changed since I posted the link several weeks ago; it was only a buck or two if I remember correctly.  My guess is that it is a listing mistake seeing there are tons of sellers for these.

    Hey guys,

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm wondering if anyone has any guides or something on how to change the lights in the dash cluster x.x

Pretty straightforward, just grab some LEDs from the last ebay link for $1, pull the cluster out and replace with the LEDs... Mine are still going well but I'd grab a couple of spares since the ebay LEDs can be really cheap quality sometimes...
